Heber City is excited to continue moving forward with the next step in the master plan update process. The next topic is an important one and focuses on formulating development options, or “alternatives,” for Heber Valley Airport.
These alternatives will be presented at the next public meeting, which is open to the entire community. The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, at Heber Valley Elementary, 730 S 600 W, Heber City, 84032. While the open house is scheduled to end at 8:30 p.m., city and airport staff have committed to remaining onsite until all questions have been answered.
There will be presentations from Heber City staff and T-O Engineers summarizing each of the alternatives, outlining their benefits and challenges, and reviewing other examined alternatives. There will also be visual displays and subject-matter experts available to answer questions.
The Technical Advisory Committee and the Community Advisory Committee members are charged with providing input on the airport master plan and keeping community interests at the heart of the planning process. These committees are comprised from a diverse cross-section of representatives, from airport users to local business owners, nearby homeowners and regional elected officials. Members of both the CAC and TAC will also be in attendance at the public meeting.
This juncture defines the airport’s ability to meet future demand, federal safety standards, and integrate with the community vision—a challenging endeavor. It will be a balancing act, and public feedback is essential.
The public meeting will be an opportunity for community members to learn and provide your input. Together with your insight, a preferred Alternative will be developed and presented to the Heber City Council.
